Pay Your
Alumni Dues

Welcome to the Beta Sigma Beta / Penn State University Online Community!

On behalf of the current Brotherhood, Alumni and Foundation, we welcome you our BΣB Online Home.

For New Member Candidates, this site will give you your first insight into the long and hallowed tradition of the BΣB House at Penn State.

To our revered Alumni, this serves as a source of information of the continued success of the location that meant so much to all of us during our collegiate years. Further, it is a place to re-involve yourself through one of our Alumni Programs. Take this opportunity to get back in touch with your fraternity family.

The current Brothers should take the opportunity to get acquainted with Alumni activities and interact with our prestigious Alumni network. This will also be a centralized source to manage and report on many of the activities apart of contemporary BΣB life.

Regardless of whether you are considering BΣB for the first time, a current brother or part of the alumni, we hope the site will be part of creating new memories and wonderful remembrance of the past.

BΣB is a place to get involved and stay involved!

Bob Lyons: Brother-At-Arms and Lifelong Beta Sig
Robert “Bob” Lyons ’42 has a lifelong commitment to Beta Sigma Beta that began literally before he ever set foot on Penn State campus.

“My father was a Beta Sigma. When he took me to Penn Station to go to the University, he took a walk through the station and met a bunch of guys coming back from a weekend in Long Island. They were Beta Sigs too,” Bob said. “By the time we got to Penn State we were already friends. My father had my luggage sent straight to the frat house, so you could say I was a Beta Sig from the very beginning.”

Bob explained that although his father was “an incredible man” and charismatic, the exchange wasn’t totally unusual.

“Back then that’s the way things happened. Legacies were a very important factor in the continuation of all of the fraternities” Bob said. “It was something that was closely considered. Even as a kid, I was a Beta because of my father’s influence.”
